Liferiders Community Cycling Project

Steady and sociable bike rides, together

Here at Liferiders we believe that riding bikes together helps us feel better. But you won't find us in a peloton, or wearing clip-in shoes. We choose laughter over lycra and slo-mo over aero. Liferiders is more about friendship and chatting, whilst enjoying a meander through the countryside. We often walk our bikes up the hills, stop for a cuppa, and take our time. We help people to start enjoying the social, mental and physical benefits of cycling bikes together.

We usually have a couple of rides organised every week (see website for details: and we try and stick to bike paths and quieter roads to avoid the traffic and enjoy connecting to nature.

As a registered charity we also have some loan bikes for folks to ride - no bike? No problem !

Our rides are donation-based, which means if you need it to be free, it is free.

All we ask is that you're comfortable riding on roads in accordance with the Highway Code, if you bring your own bike we ask you to check that it's roadworthy, and you ride safely (with helmet and lights).

We also offer a 121 support service to meet up with you before your first ride, help you check that your bike is working properly, and answer your questions to ease any worries.

If you'd like to follow our adventures and news you can find us on Facebook (search Liferiders Community Cycling Project) Twitter (@LiferidersCBAD) and we have a lovely Whats App group you can join at any time, as well as a well resourced website

We follow the British Cycling Covid guidance. During lockdown Liferiders has paused group rides because only 1+1 riders can cycle together. However, our group rides will start again on Wednesday 31st March (see website for details). These rides will be subject to the Covid guidance of +1 metre distance, and groups of 6. Sunday rides will also re-start from 4/4.
