Living Well Smokefree

About

Is the Stop Smoking Service ran by North Yorkshire County Council.  A 6-12 week programme for anyone who lives or works in North Yorkshire and is registered with a North Yorkshire GP.

Using Stop smoking medication with behavioural Support and motivational interviewing techniques you are 3-4 times more likely to quit.

All medication is charged at prescription rate (or free if you do not pay for your prescriptions) and collected from a local pharmacy.

Advisors are on hand from 9am-6pm, Monday to Friday for up to 12 weeks hoping to get you quit at 4 weeks and stay quit.

All interventions are currently being conducted by Telephone support of via remote connectivity i.e. Teams, Whatsapp, Zoom.  We hope to be introducing face to face clinics in the near future Covid depending.

This means we are reliant on Self Reported Quits at the moment unless you are on the Pregnancy Incentive Scheme where we can send remote CO monitors that link with your Smart phone to confirm abstinence from smoking.

Our advisors will call you at a convenient time to yourself, Monday to Friday usually between 9am and 6pm and they will asses your smoking habits and nicotine addiction and advise on the best products to assist your quit attempt.
