Rescare was founded in 1984 by parents and friends of people affected by the closure of large NHS hospitals for people with learning disability; Rescare is a national charity run “by families for families”.  We have members from all over the UK.

Our Services and support include:

  • Helpline - available Monday-Friday 9am-5pm which provides support to families
  • Resnews – our newsletter is published three times a year
  • Virtual Zoom Forums – discussing key topics in learning disability space
  • Befriending Service - this is a new project which we are currently recruiting for across the UK

We have existing members that have been contact with us and used our support services for decades. Our annual membership for a family is only £20.

Our support for our helpline is remote via telephone, email and mail
