About

A Shed for men and women bringing together people at risk of social isolation arising from circumstances such as loneliness, bereavement, loss of job, adjusting to retirement or change of place, relationship breakdown and other factors that can impact personal well-being leading to lack of confidence, low mood and loss of purpose. 

We offer creative distraction from day to day concerns through activities involving "doing", whether that be actively making, repairing and restoring things requiring learning new skills, the giving or receiving help and working alongside others, or embracing traditional crafts and modern technologies,

Sheds provide a feeling of family, fun and mutual support. It is a place for banter too which many miss when no longer working with others.

Men's Sheds is a concept taken from Australia where they are recognised as strong community assets and somewhat life-savers by families, communities and local well-being services.

Sheds are volunteer run by members themselves - so called Shedders!
