The Bridge - Community Support Organisation during the Covid 19 pandemic

We are here to help you during the Covid-19 pandemic if you are Shielding or Isolating.

We  get  volunteers to shop for you or to  collect your prescription and have it delivered to you door.

If you would like someone to talk with over the phone, we offer telephone befriending, or maybe, you just need someone to walk your dog?

We can also signpost you to someone who can help, in the event we are unable too.

During this pandemic, we need volunteers who are able to shop and/or collect and deliver prescriptions for those shielding or isolating.

Our volunteers when shopping for someone, use their own money up to the value of £30.00.  Once you have shopped, the volunteer gives the office a call saying how much the shopping has come to. The office then calls the customer to let them know, they then leave the money outside their front door in an envelope.  The volunteer drops the shopping off, knocks on the door and walks away.  A little tip -- it's always a good idea to have some change on you!!! You can then text the office to say - Job Done!!

Collecting prescriptions is a similar procedure, usually no money is needed as it's all older people but occasionally money is required.

If you feel you could offer help, please get in touch.
