About

Inspiring healthy lifestyles' Wellbeing team are delivering a fun school holiday programme tergeted at children ages 8-17 from Selby Town Centre, Abbots Road and Flaxley Road estsates. The programme takes place every Friday night throughout school holiday's and consists of coached physical activity and educational workshops centred around nutrition.

Inspiring healthy lifestyles have partnered with the local Sainsbury's supermarket to provide food donations for the participants to take home to their families. Healthy snacks are also provided throughout the sessions. The sessions are delivered by qualified coaches and include a variety of exciting sports, games and activities. The participants have the opportunity to be upskilled in regards to first aid and some of the older participants are able to gain experience in coaching sport and physical activity.

Session details are as follows:

Ages 8-12 from 6-8pm, ages 13-17 from 8-10pm. Both groups meet in the reception area of Summit Indoor Adventure. All participants must be registered in advance or be able to provide a contact number for parents to enable coaches to communicate with the child's parents before starting the session. 

The programme has been implemented in response to the Holiday Hunger crisis during school holidays whereby free school meals and PE lessons are not provided.
