Three Hagges Wood Meadow

Three Hagges Wood Meadow, Escrick

We are a wildflower meadow and woodland creation project which came about in 2012 after we received a grant from the forestry commission to plant 10,000 native trees and shrubs. The project aims to address the recent declines in wildlife seen in the UK, by producing a combination of permanent grassland and woodland. A team of volunteers help with the wood-meadow management on Friday mornings

We offer a variety of roles to suit different abilities, interests and time availability:
  • Caring for the wood-meadow, mostly working outdoors.
  • Helping welcome visitors at events.
  • Helping with botanical and wildlife recording.
  • Helping with school visits.
  • Encouraging more people to come to our events and helping with marketing.
  • helping with administration and office based tasks.

What we offer our volunteers:
  • Training and support in learning new skills.
  • Learning from experts about nature.
  • invitations to events, talks and activities.
  • The chance to meet like-minded people.
  • Free tea and coffee each time you come.
