Church House Centre, Whitby


DAG is a User Led Organisation, supporting people living with physical and learning disabilities in Whitby & District, North Yorkshire, by providing a range of services, activities, volunteering opportunities and outreach projects. We help disabled people by providing information, advice, guidance, signposting and support to enable them to make informed choices, access services and enabling them to live as independently as possible. 

We provide:

  • Welfare Benefits Advice - including PIP, Attendance Allowance, Carers Allowance and North Yorkshire Local Assistance Fund, Blue Badge and Disability Bus passes.
  • Advice, Information and support via telephone or face to face
  • Advice on access issues 
  • Mobility Equipment Hire Service - Wide range of Scooters and Wheelchairs available
  • Trips and outings - Members enjoy weekly trips for social and leisure
  • Creative Arts sessions - Weekly sessions in Whitby, Hinderwell and Staithes
  • Swimming for Well being - weekly session at Whitby Leisure Centre
  • Volunteering opportunities - including Minibus Driving, Passenger Assistants and companions
  • Chair Based exercise classes - weekly at Church House Centre
