About

Career Link Provision

YH Training’s Career Link Provision is a Study Programme offering young people aged 16- 18 years or 16-25yrs for those with an EHCP the opportunity to gain:

•             Functional Skills Maths and English qualifications up to Level 2

•             Employ-ability and Personal Development Skills

•             Preparation for work and life

•             Work experience opportunities

•             Social Skills

•             Independent Living Skills

Every learner receives a full induction and completes a robust Initial assessment process. An individual learning plan is then agreed with the learner. The learning journey is closely monitored, groups are small and the emphasis is on promoting self-esteem, confidence and independence. Feedback is ongoing and reviews are held every six weeks.

All learners begin Functional Skills at an appropriate level. Functional Skills qualifications range from Entry Level 1 to L2 in both Maths and English. Learners sit exams when they are ready and learning is differentiated to meet individual learning requirements.

The study programme is the stepping stone many learners need in order to progress to more specific courses, further training or employment.

Part of our provision has been allocated specifically for learners who have a diagnosed Autistic Spectrum condition.

Learners, who require additional support, learn in a smaller group environment and receive more intensive support as individually required. Communication is maintained with the learner, parents/carers and other professionals throughout this process as appropriate.
